Daily Run: Unenthusiastic

Time of Day: 7:00 AM

Weather: 63*, light rain

Duration:  1 hour 7 minutes 27 seconds

Distance: 8 miles

Average Pace: 8:26/mile

Notes: For once I actually woke up to my alarm.  It was the first morning in at least a week that I haven’t woken up beforehand.  I was angry at myself for setting it on a Sunday when I didn’t have to worry about running in the heat anyway, but I was awake so I got up anyway.

I was dressed and had my contacts in by the time I noticed that it was raining.  Another reason to sleep in, but now I was awake and dressed, so it was clear that I was running anyway.

The rain looked like it was coming down hard, but it actually wasn’t.  It all but stopped by the third mile, so I was very glad that I went running instead of waiting.  I just wish it had rained a few days ago when it was 82* and disgusting outside instead.

It turned out to be nice running weather, but I still didn’t enjoy this run.  I was slow and tired and checking my watch too often.  I tend to glance at my watch too often when I’m not enjoying a run, hoping that time and distance has magically passed.

It’s a trend–I’m always slow by Sunday.  It’s my 5th day of running in a row with only my long run left before a day off.  My slow and shorter weekend runs are supposed to refresh me for my long run on Monday.  Hopefully it works.
