Daily Run: On Your Mark, Get Set…

Time of Day: 7:30 AM

Weather: 66*, 84% humidity, partly cloudy

Duration: 16 minutes 59 seconds

Distance: 2 miles

Average Pace: 8:29/mile

Notes: I went on my 2 mile “systems check” this morning.  My glute is tight again and so are the muscles surrounding Cranky.  It’s strange that my glute has hurt more on the days I don’t run, like Monday and yesterday.  Well, I hope that means my butt likes running, because it’s about to get a lot of it tomorrow morning.

I felt slow and tight, but I am so ready to get out there.  The long car ride won’t help my tightness, but I will roll out for a long time when I get to the hotel, have fun at the expo, eat spaghetti with my parents tonight, and enjoy this race.  I am so excited.  My legs might not feel ready, but I know I trained well and I am mentally prepared.

And guess what, no rain until tomorrow night.

Holy crap it’s going to be hot though!  I feel sorry for everyone who didn’t train in Houston.

If stalking me via blog isn’t enough Jess for you, you can also track me during the race by registering hereI am bib # 2033.

And in case you’re wondering, my goal is to beat my PR of 3:16:19.
