Daily Run: Can’t Complain
Time of Day: 6:45 AM
Weather: 45* with 39* wind chill, cloudy
Duration: 1 hour 39 minutes 29 seconds
Distance: 12 miles
Average Pace: 8:17/mile
Notes: After seeing the weather for the rest of the country, I am not going to complain about ours. Usually I wouldn’t even have to wear long sleeves in 45* weather (for running anyway). I did today because of the wind and was still cold for awhile, but yeah, not complaining.
My pace continued to be slow today, at least for most of the run. It didn’t bother me a bit–I felt smooth and running felt effortless through the last 9 of my 12 miles. I love medium-long runs. So glad the cold rain held off.
I have a semi-annoying Friday schedule and have to go back and forth to the gym several times today. It will give me time to get in a good weight lifting session though, and when I’m back home in between I might get to start packing for tomorrow. I’m going back up to the Austin area for my mom’s birthday. I’ll have a nice, hilly long run while I’m there too. Not that I need hill workouts to train for the Houston marathon, but whatever.
Round 1 of Christmas baking is almost complete. I have too many recipes I want to try. They are all cookies, of course. I have to limit myself somehow. Are you baking this year? If so, what?

medium long runs are my favorite too. and i would kill for 45* weather as a HIGH lately
No baking for me, but we made praline pancake syrup for gifts.
Nothing beats an effortless longer-ish run! I have yet to develop my cookie list for the year, but it usually involves sugar cookies with frosting to decorate like crazy.
Do you run better in cold weather or more normal Houston (HOT + HUMID) conditions? Have a great weekend with the fam!
http://pardonmycrumbs.blogspot.com/2009/11/chocolate-chips-sea-salt-walnuts-yum.html I just made these and they were hands down the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever made. And I have made probably 50 kinds. A HUGE hit. And don’t get me started on the holiday baking– I do waaaaaaaay too much.
