Food for Fun: Giant Chocolate Chip Heath Bar Cookies

I made these for MSB on Memorial Day.  He was out of “study cookies,” after all.  I got the recipe from Cookie Madness, where I seem to get a lot of recipes.  I should probably stay off that site for my heart’s sake.

I stayed true to the recipe, except that I mixed in the Heath bar bits and they were from a bag of the baking bits instead of from an actual bar.  I got 13 cookies instead of 12, so mine must have been a bit small.  They were still huge.

The dough is sturdy and can hold lots of chocolate.  So…I used a lot of chocolate.  The dough still baked well with lots of melty goodness in each bite.  The consistency was firm, yet chewy.  I think the slightly darker color is due to the cup of dark brown sugar.  Very good.

  • I learned about Cookie Madness thanks to you, and made a banana-bar recipe that made my family happy. Ergo, your blog made my family happy. Thanks!
